Counting our Blessings!

Taking the time to feel gratitude this morning brought tears of joy to my eyes. This morning as I took my walk, I soaked in all the colors of the leaves changing, the cool air, and the sounds of nature. All of these things in addition to thinking of my circle of close friends, my loving family, my beautiful home and garden, my pets, my health, my dreams-everything—when appreciated in the moment stirred up amazing feelings which resonated to my core. Thanksgiving holiday is a time for each of us to spend time reflecting on all the blessings in each of our lives.
Melody Beattie says in her book,"Gratitude: Affirming the Good Things in Life" that gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It makes things right. It turns what we have into enough." She continues," It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. "
Grateful thinking can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. With the right attitude we can turn a problem into a gift, failures into successes, the unexpected into perfect timing. Being thankful for our lives as they are, we can turn our existence into a real life that we love. We can look at disconnected situations and see them as beneficial lessons. Beattie says," Gratitude can make sense of our past, bring peace for today and create visions for tomorrow." Gratitude transforms negative situations into positive energy. We can each start where we are today and with who we are and apply gratitude, then let it work its magic.
Julia Cameron in her book, "Blessings" says" Counting our blessings is a small step in the direction of our dreams. As we expand our consciousness in gratitude, we become larger vessels for good."
May your Thanksgiving holiday be a time for reflection to give thanks for each and every blessing in your life to expand the good coming your way.
